Telecom Battery Cabinet Supplier & Wholesale
A cabinet is not a box around a battery. It sets the thermal environment, the maintenance access, the security and the service life of everything inside. Most cabinet problems show up in year two — a hot site, a door that will not seal, or a battery that cannot be removed without dismantling the rack.

Outdoor vs Indoor
Outdoor cabinets carry the IP rating, insulation and cooling; indoor cabinets assume a conditioned room and focus on access and rack space. Putting an indoor cabinet on a pad in the sun is a common false economy — it will run hotter than the battery’s rating allows.
Thermal Design
Cooling capacity must cover battery heat plus solar gain, not just ambient temperature. Insulation slows heat transfer, placement avoids direct sun, and ventilation removes heat once it is inside; none replaces the others. On 750mm cabinets the 1500W cooling unit and AC redundancy are sized for continuous operation in hot climates.
Access and Service
Allow working room for terminals, breakers, fan service and battery removal. A door-controlled LED light helps during service, but does not create clearance where none was left. Dual doors with an electronic lock are optional for sites with restricted access.
Export and OEM
Cabinets ship with UN38.3 and MSDS for the battery content, CE/RoHS declarations, packing list and commercial invoice. OEM options include labelling, colour, door configuration and cooling capacity. MOQ depends on the configuration.
Cabinet Capacity: 26U vs 42U
Cabinet size is decided by the number of 48V packs, the rectifier plant and the space left for cable management. A 48V 100Ah rack pack is about 3U high; allow 6U for a rectifier shelf and 2U for patch and fusing.
| Cabinet | Usable U for batteries | 48V 100Ah packs | Approx. energy | Typical site |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 26U outdoor | ≈18U | 6 | ≈30 kWh | Small base station, CBO |
| 42U outdoor | ≈34U | 11 | ≈56 kWh | Macro site, hub |
| 42U indoor | ≈34U | 11 | ≈56 kWh | Equipment room with cooling |
Two constraints catch buyers out. First, a 26U cabinet with a 6U rectifier and a 2U fuse panel leaves 18U, not 26U — quote the battery count against usable U. Second, outdoor cabinets need the thermal load of the batteries added to the rectifier and radio load; a sealed 26U cabinet in a hot climate can derate the pack’s charge current.
Copper Busbars and Connections
Above roughly 200A, rack packs are usually paralleled onto a copper busbar rather than daisy-chained. Specify the bar for the total discharge current plus 25%, tin-plate it in coastal sites, and torque the lugs to the pack datasheet value.
| Busbar | Continuous current | Typical use | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 × 5 mm copper | ≈250A | 4–6 packs | Insulated standoffs, 6–8 Nm on M8 |
| 40 × 5 mm copper | ≈350A | 8–11 packs | Tin-plated in coastal sites |
| 50 × 6 mm copper | ≈500A | Large plants | Separate charge and discharge bars |
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Cabinets are supplied separately if you already have a battery bank, and we will confirm the internal rack dimensions against your battery model.
IP55 is the usual minimum for outdoor sites; coastal installations also need corrosion-resistant coatings and attention to cable entry seals. Tell us the environment and we will confirm the finish.
It depends on ambient temperature, solar exposure and load. The 750mm cabinet with 1500W cooling covers the 200Ah rack in typical hot-climate conditions; send the site data for a check.
Yes. Cabinet drawings, mounting details and cable entry positions are provided with the order so the site can be prepared before delivery.
