How to Compare Lithium Battery Brands (Buyer’s Framework)
This page is a framework, not a ranking. We make LiFePO4 batteries, so treat our views with the appropriate scepticism — but the questions below are the same ones we expect buyers to ask us.
The Six Things That Actually Differ
| Item | What to ask | Red flag |
|---|---|---|
| Cells | Which cell maker and model? Can I see a capacity report for the batch? | “Grade A” with no maker or report |
| BMS | Continuous and peak current, cut-off voltages, temperature limits, balancing method | Only “smart BMS” with no numbers |
| Test conditions | Cycle life at what DoD, temperature, C-rate and end-of-life capacity? | “6,000 cycles” with no conditions |
| Documentation | UN38.3, MSDS, CE, RoHS for this shipment | Generic files that do not match the model |
| Warranty | Years, what is covered, who pays freight, how claims are handled | Warranty mentioned only in the brochure |
| Support | A named contact, commissioning help, spare BMS availability | Only a shared sales inbox |
Why Price per Ah Misleads
Two 100Ah packs can differ by 30% in usable energy once depth of discharge, BMS limits and cell quality are accounted for. Compare cost per usable kWh, not cost per Ah — and include freight, duties and the failure rate you expect over five years.
How to Verify a Claim
- Ask for a capacity test report with the serial numbers of the units you will receive.
- Ask for the cell datasheet, not just the pack datasheet.
- Order one sample and test it yourself before the container.
- Ask what happens if a unit fails in year two — who ships the replacement, and at whose cost.
Where LINEX Fits
We are a Shenzhen-based LiFePO4 manufacturer supplying 12V, 24V and 48V packs, telecom cabinets and portable power stations to importers and distributors. We publish our specifications, provide batch capacity reports and ship export documentation with each order. We are not the cheapest quote you will receive, and we do not claim to be the largest.
Frequently asked questions
Only if the test conditions are comparable. A 6,000-cycle rating at 80% DoD and 25°C is meaningful; the same number with no conditions is marketing.
For a product you will warrant for five years, usually yes. The price gap is small compared with the cost of replacing failed units in the field.
Both can work. What matters is whether the seller controls cell sourcing, BMS configuration and testing, and whether they can show you the reports.
Put usable kWh, BMS continuous current, cycle test conditions, warranty terms and included documents side by side. If a quote cannot fill those columns, the price is not comparable.
